What are some life hacks that you practice?

Looking at this question through the lens of a writing agency, the most effective life hack we practice is surprisingly low-tech. If we were to zero in on just one, it is simply writing by hand.

Today, gadgets like computers and phones have made writing significantly easier. Typing a quick note on your phone while on the move is far more convenient than carrying a pen and notebook to write while on a moving bus or taxi.

However, despite these modern conveniences, one writing hack we cherish is the practice of physical writing using a pen and a notebook. There are several reasons why this approach remains so effective.

First, writing by hand forces you to switch to analog, creating a natural boundary against digital distractions. Without notifications, your brain can focus entirely on the task and generate clearer, more creative ideas. In today’s digitally noisy world, that sustained focus is pure gold.

Second, handwriting is a physical experience. Feeling the friction of the pen on paper and seeing your words take shape in real time creates a direct connection between your hands and your mind. This is something tapping on a glass screen can’t replicate.

This leads to perhaps the most powerful benefit of all: pace. Writing by hand gives you permission to slow down. This gives your thoughts room to form naturally and lets you search for the exact right word, without the assistance of autocorrect or predictive text.

So our life hack today is simple: write by hand. Take a moment and try it. Buy a notebook, and don’t feel the need to call it a journal or a diary if that adds pressure. It can just be a notebook. Whenever you feel overwhelmed by a thought or emotion, put it on paper for your eyes only.

The digital world has provided endless avenues to write for an audience. This often leads to a loss of creative depth as we rush to create and push content out.

However, you can also choose to step back and write solely for yourself—and physical writing is the single best tool for this. You might be surprised by the clarity it brings.

Quote of the month

Of course AI can write for you. Just like most people can run a marathon or play football—but most people aren’t Eliud Kipchoge or Bukayo Saka. In much the same way, AI can write for you.
