Nowadays, people don’t like reading.

Therefore, by virtue of this school of thought—which has become fairly common—there is a possibility that you may stop reading this story right here.

A possibility, however, also implies that you may very well find yourself enjoying this.

The name Lapatutu story is rooted in three stories that our founder, William Kyeyune, holds dear to this day.

The first story is about the Dreaded Middle. Growing up, William experienced something profound while in school. He was an average student. By this, he wasn’t in the very top percentile, nor was he in the bottom percentile academically. He was in that dreaded middle. It is a place dreaded for the fact that the students there are often lost in oblivion.

There were other students who, though devoid of academic strength, were outstanding in fields such as rugby, dance, or long-distance running. But even with these kinds of gifts, he remained in that dreaded middle. Through much of his school time, he witnessed what it meant to be lost. To be unknown—not because you do not exist, but because you are caught in the middle.

This brings us to the second story, the Journal. While he went through this, there was a safe place he would always run to: a pen and a book. In what became his journal, he would write letters to God almost every other day. Inside those pages, he would write prayers—prayers that would seem funny if he were to ever say them out loud.

But in those moments of silent writing, he was ushered into the power of encouragement.

Today is going to be a good day.

For some people, an entry like that can seem normal. It can seem usual. But for someone in a place where they feel lost, those words have the ability to carry them through the day. Hope, to a person who is in a pit of life, is not simple. It is profound. It is powerful. It is real.

This is why we want to take this moment to say a word of encouragement to you, if you are reading this and are going through a pit at the moment.

Take a moment and say a prayer. Tomorrow will come.

Onto the third story, All Things Working Together For Good. Life is designed in such a way that our experiences are like pieces of a puzzle. Every piece—every moment—is interconnected to ultimately form a majestic picture.

William’s moment of feeling lost birthed the instinct and passion to encourage and inspire first himself, and these those around him. These tenets became almost natural aspects of his life. But that season also showed him the unspoken power of writing.

Fast forward to years later, all these facets came together in an idea to inspire the world with the stories of brands—magnifying why brands do what they do, and giving their work the key spotlight it needs to make people believe in that purpose.

People don’t read anymore, we are all just scrolling for video.

There is validity to the statement. But even with video and audio, there is a certain depth of context that can only be achieved through reading a well-crafted narrative. Writing has a unique way of allowing the reader to create a world of their own—to become their very own movie director in the theatre of their minds.

This conviction is what birthed Lapatutu Writing Creations.

The name Lapatutu came from a special, unscripted moment. One day, while William was working on his laptop, a little child approached him and asked what the gadget was.

“A laptop,” he replied.

The little child, amazed at the gadget, smiled back and repeated the word.

“Lapatutu,” she said.

He mentioned the ‘correct’ word again. “Laptop.”

The little child, even more gladly, repeated her version. “Lapatutu.”

There it was. A name that resonated with the tool of a passion he desired. Lapatutu.

A name that would from that moment define the brand. Lapatutu.

Today, Lapatutu Writing Creations is a writing agency using the written word to magnify the reason why brands and individuals do what they do. We believe that your Why, clearly crafted, is the greatest foundation of legacy.

And, as you can see, a well-crafted story will get people reading.

You are the witness!

A writing business? Have you heard of AI? You know AI can write anything I want in a matter of seconds.

Again, this is true without a doubt.

But we believe nothing has made human writing more desirable like artificial writing.

Human beings are real people. And there is a saying that sums this up perfectly:

Real recognizes real.

Quote of the month

“When the radio came, they said writing was over. When the TV came, they said writing was done. Now the internet and AI are here, and they say the same thing. But writing—human writing—has stood firm as the bedrock upon which all communication is built.
