If Arsenal had won the EFL Cup,
They would have called it a plastic trophy.
A negligible victory,
Not worth any celebration, not worth any hype.
If Arsenal had won the FA Cup,
They would have dismissed it as a lower-tier tournament.
“Why celebrate beating Championship teams?”
“It’s just the FA Cup,” they would say.
If Arsenal had won the Champions League,
They would be reminded that every other European giant has lifted it before.
“It’s only their first one,” they would say.
“Let them talk when they have at least five of these.”
Now that Arsenal has won the Premier League,
They ask, “What is all the celebration about?”
“Let’s see if they can even repeat it next season!”
“They only won because Man City had a bad season!”
Yet, even if Arsenal had won all four of these trophies,
Nothing would change.
They would still find a way to downplay the success.
One way or another, you and I are like Arsenal
Not because we support the club,
But because…
People will always find a way to downplay your success,
And minimize your journey.
Most of the time, only you know the true cost of your victory.
Keep your focus—you are not working for their validation; you are working for your elevation.
