Every now and then, this question tends to find its way into our internal space. It may not be out loud, but the question oftentimes features in our minds. It visits while surviving a terrible traffic jam, or right before we drift off to sleep, whispering against the progress we think we are making.

When will my business ever get recognized? When will I ever be able to speak confidently in public to a great applause? When will I ever get to travel in a plane and experience the skies? When will I be celebrated for the work I do? When will I have more money than I need?

When? When will it happen for me?

At the World Cup this year, we have two peculiar footballers making their debut on the world stage. One is the 40-year-old Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, and the other is 17-year-old Mexican midfielder Gilberto Mora.

Two players. One is just beginning to write his story at seventeen; the other is proving that the ink never dries, even at forty. Two different generations, sharing the exact same crowning moment on the world’s biggest stage. The argument can be made that it is better for the younger player, but really, is it? Is an early start the guarantee of consistent success? We can never know.

When will it happen for me?

Only God truly knows the answer to this question for each one of us. But what life seems to confirm, is that the diligence and discipline of moving brings this moment closer to you. It happening—is a byproduct of consistency.

Unto each of us, it will be at a different moment. But what is certain is that unto each of us, that moment will be the perfect moment.

Keep moving.

Have a wonderful week ahead.

Quote of the month

“When the radio came, they said writing was over. When the TV came, they said writing was done. Now the internet and AI are here, and they say the same thing. But writing—human writing—has stood firm as the bedrock upon which all communication is built.
